This delightful park in the centre of town has picnic tables, information displays, off-street parking and public toilets. It's the ideal starting point for exploring Lowood.


Lowood Memorial Grove

Prospect Street {near Rail Trail}

Four trees planted along Prospect Street near Lowood State School in 1945 - in memory of a teacher and three pupils who died in unrelated incidents - were all cut down over time.

In a special ceremony in 2013, four trees were planted in this dedicated new grove near the Rail Trail, alongside a black granite commemorative plaque. Lest We Forget.

Lowood Reservoir Lookout

Reservoir Rd (off southern end of Main Street

This park offers views of Lowood and the surrounding district and glimpses of the Brisbane River. There are picnic tables and ample street parking. 


Lowood Recreation Reserve

Lindemans Road

These multi-purpose flood-lit sports grounds are used for rugby league, soccer, cricket and other activities.


Lowood-Fernvale Rail Trail

This section of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is 8km long with gentle undulations and delightful views of the Brisbane River near Lowood. It is perfect for walkers, horse riders and cyclists. The annual Rail Trail Fun Run from Lowood to Fernvale is held every July.


Jensen's Swamp Environmental Reserve

Jensen's Swamp is a significant koala and wildlife habitat, with the wetland area providing a breeding ground for a large number of native birds and other fauna.
