Lowood and District Community Centre

About Us: 

The Lowood and District Community Centre is run entirely by volunteers and is totally unfunded, except for the use of the building provided by the Somerset Regional Council. There are no paid staff. 

We are part of the Food Rescue Program with Woolworths Fernvale. 

Outreach Service Providers:

• Lifeline 2^nd & 4^th Thurdays, usually afternoons depending on demand
• Salvation Army Employment Plus every Monday afternoon
• Employment Services Qld every second Wednesday all day
• Boystown Employment Services first Tuesday of the month
• Campbell Page specialises in working with young people who have disengaged from education or are at risk of disengaging. They also work with young mums in the Under 19 age group. Contact us for dates and times.

Services provided by Lowood Community Centre include:

• Internet, fax, telephone, photocopying
• Typing and copying for individuals or small businesses
• Resume writing and review
• Emergency Relief in the form of food, Telstra vouchers, Pharmaceutical vouchers

General Support

We are always available for a chat, or a shoulder to cry on, along with tea, coffee and a biscuit. 

We also encourage Mums to make their children's lunches here, rather than having them miss out on school, if there is nothing at home for lunch.
